"Talk about great value. Merlot is better known as a blending grape to add flesh to Cabernet’s bones, but it makes one of the most popular wines in the world for good reason. Its soft, fleshy, friendly style makes it easy to enjoy. It marries well with the taste of oak, such as in this wine, which has a spicy, sweet vanilla aroma and medium body." - 3.5 Stars, Joelle Thomson, Wine Writer
"The Bell Tower range from Beresford is named after the huge tower located on the estate property in the middle of the McLaren Vale. Wines are only made in the best years when the grapes are ripe (they’re handpicked for their concentration and flavour) and the weather just right, to produce a fruit forward wine typical of the Beresford range. Ageing takes place in a combination of French and American oak, before resting in bottle and released. With four years of age already, we think its drinking well now, with obvious notes of cherry, wild mulberries, spice and vanilla on the finish. Serve in a deep, wide glass and allow the flavours to wash over you." - Wine Central Tasting Panel
Beresford have been winemakers since 1985and create hand-crafted wines of great substance, balance and depth. The Bell Tower rang pays homeage to the iconic tower that stands proud on the Estate property in McLaren Vale. Housing a grand 1894 Henry Stuckstede Cast Bronze Bell; crafted in St. Louise, USA where it took residency in a German church and was inscribed ‘FRIDED AUF ERDEN’, meaning Peace on Earth.
